Let’s see where this rock solid vehicle is made.

A bit of Michigan and Indiana for the hardworking driver
Now let’s tackle the question that plagues us – “Where is the Chevy Silverado made?”

For the most park, the Chevy Silverado is made in Flint, Michigan-home of the Great Lakes- and in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The General Motors Flint Assembly opened in 1947 as the automotive industry grew during post-WWII America. It was home to the first 300 Chevrolet Corvettes and the gold Chevrolet Bel Air. Over 13 million vehicles have been built at the Flint, Michigan site. Today it’s home to General Motors’ hardy vehicles such as the Chevy Silverado.

Over in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the Fort Wayne Assembly is home to the GMC Sierra and the Chevrolet Silverado. The facilities have 97 truck docks. Every 2.6 minutes, there’s a material delivery to a dock.

Both assembly facilities take pride in providing jobs and quality vehicles to the American people.

South of the border for the crew cab
It’s all South of the border for the Chevy Silverado crew cab editions. They’re made in Silao, Mexico. General Motors, the company that owns Chevy, has an assembly plant there.

(By the way, these four-door crew cabs are something to be admired! You can find both a hardy work truck and a family-worthy transportation vehicle in the Chevy Silverado!)

Silao, Mexico boasts of a population of 147,123 and is an economy that thrives on agricultural and industrial efforts. So it makes sense that Silao would be home to a vehicle factory.

The General Motors Silao Plant opened in 1996 and takes up 26.5 million square feet. These facilities cater to propulsion systems assembly, vehicle assembly, and stamping operations.

Not only do they manufacture the Chevrolet Silverado, but there’s also the Chevy Cheyenne. Their propulsion systems assembly includes V-8 engines (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 6.2L supercharged) and transmissions for rear-wheel drive vehicles (6-speed and 8-speed.)
