1. Meridian Historical Village

Take a walk through time in the Meridian Historical Village. The Village contains eight historical buildings and a variety of nature trails that let you explore the history and beauty of our city. The Village is open every Saturday from 10am to 2pm from May to October. You can book a public tour on their website. Tickets are $10 while 10 and under are free! And don't forget to check out the Historic Lecture Series happening on Wednesdays in the Village Chapel.

2. Wonch Park

Wonch Park is a beautiful park located in the center of Okemos. With the Red Cedar River running through it, its nature trails offer the whole family a beautiful escape into a peaceful paradise. The pavilion is large and accommodates big gatherings for birthday parties, reunions, and weekend brunches. There's also a playground for the kids to enjoy.

3. Harris Nature Center

Load up the Chevy Blazer with the whole family and drive out to Harris Nature Center. Inside the center, learn about native wildlife through their permanent displays, or take advantage of seasonal program offerings for kids and adults alike. Outside the center, 200 acres of forest and meadows are available to explore. The trails are dog and horse-friendly, so be prepared to encounter animals of all kinds while visiting.

4. Meridian Road Park

For even more outdoor fun, visit Meridian Road Park. This 60-acre park has plenty of walking trails that double as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails in the winter. You'll want to be sure to take advantage of the sledding hill, too. Picnic tables make the perfect lunch spot, and for any of you soccer-minded folks, two soccer fields are available to play some games. The heated restrooms are a nice bonus too.

5. Launch Family Entertainment Lansing

There's fun to be had for everyone (yes, even the adults) at Launch. Its attractions include a trampoline park, escape room, ninja course, laser tag, dodgeball, arcade room, and slackline. The Krave Cafe restaurant offers pizza and other food selections for when you've worked up an appetite after all that fun. Several affordable programs are on offer, including Toddler Time, Home School Fridays, and a week-long Launch Camp.
