Engine and Transmission
The 2025 Silverado 2500 HD’s standard engine is a 6.6L V8 gas engine that produces 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. The available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine delivers 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm and 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm. Both engines work alongside an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission.
Exterior and Towing
Exterior features like the CornerStep rear bumper and roll-formed Durabed make the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 a perfect work pickup. While the CornerStep rear bumper lets you climb up to your truck bed without losing your footing, the high-strength Durabed hauls any type of cargo without getting damaged.
The Silverado 2500 HD makes any towing project easier, thanks to its Chevy Trailering Package. This package includes everything you need for the towing process, from a standard trailer hitch to the innovative Hitch Guidance function. If you choose the 6.6L Duramax engine, your truck also has a maximum towing capacity of 22,070 pounds!
Interior and Seating
The 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD has a spacious interior that includes two full bench seats, allowing it to seat six passengers in total. The driver and front outboard passenger have 4-way manual adjustments for their seats, while the rear seat bottoms can be folded up to create cargo space on the floor. Beneath the front seat bottoms, there is a small storage compartment for various items, including work tools, first aid kits, or a spare change of clothes.
Connectivity and Entertainment
The 2025 Silverado 2500 HD has a 7-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, Bluetooth audio streaming, voice command pass-through, and AM/FM radio. The Silverado 2500 LT and higher trims have a 13.4-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system that comes with all the features of the standard Infotainment 3 system along with Google built-in. Google built-in provides access to Google Maps, Gmail, Assistant, Play, and more.
The new Silverado 2500 is also Wi-Fi hotspot capable, providing internet access on as many as ten devices. This hotspot can work anywhere within fifty feet of the vehicle.
Safety and Collision-Avoidance
Safety features of the new Silverado 2500 include Following Distance Indicator and StabiliTrak electronic stability control. Following Distance Indicator displays the distance between your Silverado and the vehicle you’re following in seconds, while StabiliTrak adjusts your engine torque and brakes to keep your truck upright during rapid emergency maneuvers. Other safety features in the Silverado include OnStar Basics with Automatic Crash Response, six airbags, Forward Collision Alert, Teen Driver, and Lane Departure Warning.
